Are you a business owner looking to save time repurposing your content for all of your social media platforms? Are you in need of a scheduling app to stay consistent with your posting? If so, Tailwind can help! I’ve been using Tailwind for my clients, as well as for my own business, for the last 6 months and let me just say, it is a game-changer.

Since using Tailwind, my clients’ Pinterest audiences have grown exponentially. And since it’s easy to schedule content in bulk, we are better able to appeal to the Pinterest algorithm, therefore, showing up in more people’s feeds and increasing website traffic in return.

In this article, we will go over the many features and advantages of Tailwind. From its ability to save you time, to its user-friendly interface and analytics feature, you’ll see why it’s quickly becoming the go-to Pinterest business solution for entrepreneurs.

What is Tailwind?

According to its description on the Apple App Store, Tailwind is “the smart assistant for Instagram and Pinterest that enables anyone to confidently create scroll-stopping posts and Pins.” But did you know that you can also use Tailwind for Facebook, too?

Tailwind makes it incredibly easy to connect all of your social media platforms and schedule out your content so you can focus on the many other important tasks you probably have as an entrepreneur or content creator.

With Tailwind, you can design pins for Pinterest, Instagram feed posts or stories, and Facebook feed posts directly in the app or upload ones you’ve already created in Canva or Adobe. From there, you can add titles, write keyword rich descriptions, and schedule out your content months in advance.

If batch creating content is a goal for you, I can’t recommend Tailwind enough.

It gives busy business owners a way to set it and forget it when it comes to their digital marketing strategy.

So without further ado, here is a list of my favorite Tailwind features I use daily as a virtual assistant and Pinterest manager.

Bulk Scheduling

I mentioned this before, but without Tailwind, I would not be able to keep up with the amount of pins that I schedule for my monthly Pinterest clients.

In a typical week, I design and schedule at least 10 pins per client. With the Smart Schedule feature I can select an optimal posting time then repin to multiple board with interval pinning.

Tailwind automatically has this set to repost the same pin every 7 days (which is the recommended interval by many Pinterest experts) but you can adjust this to every couple of days or even monthly if you choose.

Multiple Platforms

Another incredible benefit of Tailwind is that you can connect your Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest accounts and schedule out content months in advance.

Similar scheduling apps like Planoly and Later offer this feature now, as well, but I find the interface of Tailwind to be extremely user friendly. I love looking at the calendar on the home page and seeing posts scheduled for all of my platforms.

The calendar even tells you how many posts you have scheduled each day so you can make sure you’re staying consistent with the number of posts you put out. (A good goal for Pinterest is to schedule 3-5 pins per day).

As you schedule in feed posts for Instagram, you’ll also have the ability to view what your feed will look like with the Instagram Feed Planner. Most scheduling platforms have this, and I think it’s a must if you post more graphics than photography on your business page.

If you want to get really fancy, you can create a custom pattern like a checkerboard or stripes on your feed for added visual appeal.

Design in the App

While I admit that some of the templates in the Design section of Tailwind are not my cup of tea, for busy entrepreneurs trying to keep up with social media, it can be a great all-in-one option.

You can easily batch create pins by uploading a personal image or browsing through their selection of stock photos. From there simply add a text overlay for your title and apply your branding and colors and bam! You can have hundreds of Pins created for you all at once.

Ghostwriter AI

I’m sure you’ve heard the buzz going around about ChatGPT lately. It seems, using artificial intelligence for content writing is here to stay because now Tailwind has what they call the Ghostwriter AI to help generate copy for your social platforms.

At first, this feature was only available for pin descriptions. However, a few months ago, Tailwind released its beta version of the technology.

Now you can use AI to create blog titles, introduction paragraphs, and conclusions. You can use Ghostwriter to create captions for almost every social media platform including YouTube, TikTok, and Twitter. And if you struggle with keeping in contact with your email list, there’s an option for that, too!

I’ve been using this feature for over a month now and while it’s not perfect, it can definitely help you when you’re in a crunch for time or simply having some serious writer’s block.

Most of the copy that’s generated with Ghostwriter is a bit generic and the quality varies based on the keywords and data you give the app.

Still, I find it to be a very valuable feature, and the fact that it’s included in the app at no additional cost? I’ll take it.

Marketing Plan and Prompts

If you are new to the social media game or simply lacking inspiration on what to post, the Tailwind offers a marketing plan that you can customize to suit the needs of your business. It almost acts as a social media manager, giving you prompts and timelines about what to post and the purpose behind each post.

Again, this isn’t a feature I use often, but for a newbie or someone lacking the time and energy to formulate a custom content plan, this could be a good tool.

Analytics

With a Pinterest Business account, you get access to analytics on all of the content you create. While the Insights tool isn’t an absolutely necessary feature to use on Tailwind, some may find that it is a bit easier to decipher than the analytics in the Pinterest Business Hub.

You can quickly and easily see which pins are performing best, which boards are getting the most traffic, and how engaged your audience is with your content.

Unfortunately, Insights are only available for Pinterest now, but wouldn’t it be awesome if you could combine analytics for all of your platforms in one place!?

Smart.bio Link

If you just have your website url listed in your Instagram profile, you’re missing out. Don’t pay for Linktree or Bitly for your link in bio. You can create it directly in Tailwind.

If you have a Squarespace website, be sure to check out my blog post to learn how you can build a link in bio page using a standard webpage.

Communities

I’ve yet to have much luck with this part of the app however there are some Pinterest experts that rave about the Communities feature. This used to be called Tribes a few years back.

Essentially, by joining different communities, you can connect with other users in your niche and share each other’s posts. It is supposed to be a way to get exposed to new audiences though I haven’t found that sharing my content has gotten me very far.

Perhaps I’ll keep experimenting with this feature and report back. I find it pretty easy to engage with others directly in the Pinterest app, so for now I’ll stick with that.

Affordable

At the time of writing this blog post, I currently pay $155.88 for the Pro Plan which gives me 100 posts per month, as well as access to all of the other features I listed above. Totally affordable for the amount of time and energy you will save!

If you have multiple businesses you can bump up to the next plan and connect 2 or 3 accounts for each social media platform.

I first purchased my plan around Black Friday and it was 20% off for an annual subscription. If you don’t want to wait for the sale, you can use my link here to take $15 off your subscription. Every little bit helps!

In Conclusion

Overall, Tailwind is the perfect app for busy business owners or content creators, providing features such as bulk scheduling, multiple platform connectivity, design capabilities, AI copywriting, a marketing plan and prompts, analytics, a smart.bio link, and communities.

If you’re struggling to grow your audience on Pinterest or just want an easy scheduling tool to use for all of your digital marketing platforms, Tailwind is definitely worth the investment.
