Are you a small business owner wanting to learn more about your leads, provide a custom experience, and grow your email list? A quiz lead magnet is for you!
Quizzes are one of the most powerful lead magnet options out there, but they don’t need to be complicated. This post covers the quiz builder platform Interact, benefits to creating a quiz, and a review of using Interact myself and the key features that stood out to me.
Introduction to Interact
Interact is a quiz building platform that makes creating and launching your quiz simple. Within the platform, you add your questions, answers, results, result correlations, and Interact does everything else for you.

Benefits of Creating a Quiz
Is a quiz really necessary for your business? While quizzes require more upfront work than a standard lead magnet, such as a checklist or coupon code, they tend to have an incredible ROI (return on investment)—anywhere from 7-50x!
Here are some additional benefits of creating a quiz for your business.
Email List Growth
Your quiz is a tool to drive people to your email list. At the end of your quiz, participants add their name and email address to see their results. You have the option of making this step required, to really encourage email opt-ins.
After investing time to take your quiz, participants will likely opt-in to see their results. Then, once on your email list, you have the ability to serve them with additional value tailored to their unique results.
Market Research on Autopilot
Every single question on your quiz is an opportunity for you to learn more about your ideal client. Your quiz is always conducting market research for you, without you having to lift a finger!
When you craft your quiz questions, consider your quiz results but also consider your audience. What do you need to know about them in order to better serve them? What insight would be valuable for you to learn, in order to create future offerings and content that they need?
By asking the right questions and reviewing your quiz analytics frequently, you’ll keep a pulse on your audience’s needs without having to do outside research.
Improve Customer Experience
Whenever someone takes your quiz, you gain a deeper understanding of what they’re struggling with and wanting to learn. This allows you to craft a more custom, improved experience for them!
This really comes into play with how you segment your audience on your email list. With a direct integration to Flodesk, Interact allows you to segment quiz takers based on their results. You can even segment them based on how they respond to specific questions!
For example, in my “What’s Your Best SEO Strategy” quiz, I included a question about how they prefer to learn SEO. If they answer this question saying they prefer a self-paced course, I could add them to my RANK Method Interest segment on my email list. This segment is for those who are ideal clients for RANK Method, my DIY SEO and marketing course.
If someone prefers to go the done-for-you route, they won’t receive as many marketing emails about my course. They’re a better candidate for my monthly management or DFY set-up services.
Boost Sales
All of the factors above contribute to a boost in your sales. If your email list is growing, you’re consistently conducting market research via your quiz, and you’re aiming to provide a tailored, positive experience for your community, you should see an increase in your sales.
One way to prioritize sales using your quiz is to craft custom email sequences for each result. This allows you to serve your audience better by selling them something that they actually need, based on the insights you gain through their results. This strategy is something my friend Karley teaches in her group program, Quiz Builder Bootcamp—learn more here and use code “MAGGIE50” for $50 off enrollment when doors open.
Interact Quiz Review
Now that you understand the benefits of creating a quiz, I’ll walk you through some highlights of the quiz builder platform Interact. Here are my thoughts and an Interact quiz review based on my experience of setting up my quiz, “What’s Your Best SEO Strategy?”.
Intuitive Platform
Quizzes are a more complicated lead magnet to set up, so I appreciate Interact’s intuitive platform. The software walks you through the process, from adding your quiz cover to inputting your questions and answers and the result correlations. You can easily preview your quiz prior to publishing, to see what it looks like from a viewer’s perspective.
Customizable to Fit Your Brand
Interact quizzes are very customizable, including photos, fonts, and colors. I easily updated my quiz settings to fit my branding, so it blends in well with the rest of my website. This is key for brand recognition.
Automatically Calculates Results
You don’t even need to worry about helping quiz takers calculate their results—Interact does it automatically! All you have to do is tie every answer option to a possible result (or multiple), and the platform will instantly calculate the results. This takes the guesswork and headache out of the process for you, so you just have to focus on promoting your quiz.
Powerful Analytics
The analytics are one of the BEST features of the Interact quiz platform. They’re incredibly in-depth and provide you with more data than you could even need. This data not only provides you with insight you can use for offer and content creation, but it also helps you continuously monitor and improve your quiz.
For example, Interact shows you your conversion rate. You can choose which metrics you look at here—personally, I like to look at starts vs. completions the most.
If people are starting but not completing your quiz, dig deeper. The analytics also show you the drop-off percentage for each question. If there’s a particular question where most people are dropping off, see if you can change the wording or delete it altogether in order to improve your quiz completions.
Direct Flodesk Integration
No need for a third-party automation app like Zapier to grow your email list! Interact directly integrates with most of the major email marketing platforms, including Flodesk (the one I use and recommend for small business owners—try it for free here).
Within the Interact platform, you connect to Flodesk and select which segments to add participants to. Then, they’re instantly added to your email list after taking your quiz!
